Best in Show

Enzo is our true winner, even though I am not sure he could ever be in the Westminster because he has a pink nose instead of black. Apparently, that make him "not good enough" which I think is BS. Instead I think it gives him true character and sets him apart from all those "good" dogs.

Anyway, Stump, the Sussex Spaniel, was the winner the other night. He is the oldest dog ever to win Best in Show. I think it is great and I think he is a good-looking dog, however Joey thinks he is an old hag and should have never won.

What many don't know is that these Dog Shows are a racquet...basically, many of these owners spend tons of money to campaign for their dogs, so that judges and dog lovers know who they are. Otherwise, how else would people know Lincoln the Brussels Griffon? There owners promote them in magazines and on tv and travel to dog shows and whatnot.

But Stump was different...no one knew who he was and he still won! Here are some quotes from the judge, Sari Tietjen, who gave Stump Best in Show. The judge didn't recognize him or even know how old he was!!!

"To bring a dog into the Garden who hasn't been showing was a little insane."

"He's just everything that you'd want in the breed, and I couldn't say no to him."

So for all you haters (Joey), get over it. Stump deserves to be the winner.
